Khalid bin Hamad: Fights were marked by excitement and diversity of technical plans

Manama, (BNA): His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Honorary President of the Bahrain Mixed Martial Arts Federation (BMMAF), Chairman of the High Organising Committee of BRAVE International Combat Week, attended the first day bouts of the World Mixed Martial Arts Championship, the largest MMA sports festival in Asia, held in the Kingdom of Bahrain under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, organised by BMMAF in partnership with International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) and BRAVE Combat Federation.
HH Shaikh Khalid was eager to encourage the fighters of our national MMA team on Tuesday. His presence played a prominent role in their high-level performance, producing positive results that qualified them for the second round.
Tuesday’s matches were marked by excitement among the fighters of different countries who presented great and outstanding standards and a clear diversity in the combat and technical plans.
Positive Results and Outstanding Levels
On this occasion, HH Shaikh Khalid praised the positive results achieved by the fighters of the World Championship, who possess a high level of experience in MMA. His Highness said, "The victories achieved by the fighters from all across the world in the championship are a clear indication of their great capabilities and reflect their keenness to achieve results that prove the extent of MMA’s development in the world."

HH Shaikh Khalid continued, "The first day of the championship witnessed a very distinguished presence of elite fighters who were keen to demonstrate the best technical levels and employed all their experience in order to achieve victory in those fights. We are very confident that they will achieve more victories and attain new achievements in the world championship that elevate their global standing."

HH Shaikh Khalid is always keen to harness the sports movement in support of humanitarian and charitable work and to present leading initiatives in Bahrain and the region, which is evident in the opening of the World MMA Championship.
HH Shaikh Khalid entered into an exciting match with the disabled fighter Mohamed Buhazza in an initiative to grant the player a strong opportunity to compete before the crowd attending the opening ceremony, in addition to bestowing the fighter with HH’s confidence to continue training and competing strongly in such championships to enable the player to ensure his career in MMA.
HH Shaikh Khalid has been able to employ the sports movement to serve humanitarian work and to affirm his interest in disabled people, in order to advance their levels, meet their needs and integrate them in society.
HH Shaikh Khalid's match with Buhazza ended, but it remains in the minds of all who witnessed it, drawing a bright future for the disabled.
Khaled bin Hamad Meets with the Disabled
HH Shaikh Khalid was keen to meet with disabled individuals and their families after the end of the World MMA Championship opening ceremony, in a gesture that confirmed his keenness to support and stand by people with disabilities.
HH Shaikh Khalid spoke with disabled people and their families and exchanged conversation. HH stressed that disabled people are an integral part of Bahraini society and that everyone seeks to properly integrate this category in the community and work to meet their needs regarding sports, evident through their involvement in many different sports competitions.
His Highness pointed out that the coming period will witness more initiatives that will contribute to the affirmation of disabled people’s place and improve their skills and abilities in various fields.
The event will feature the 5th edition of the Amateur World Championships and the 18th edition of the BRAVE Championship, from November 11-18 at the Khalifa Sports City Hall.
