Majid Al Mansouri of EAD wins GCC's Best Environmental Personality Award
Secretary General of the Environment Agency-Abu Dhabi-(EAD) Majid Al Mansouri has won the prestigious award of the Best Environmental Personality in the UAE.
The award is conferred by the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) evaluating the best environmental initiatives during 2007-2008 in the member states.
Al Mansouri will receive his award at a ceremony to be held in Muscat on 21st April to honour the winners in various categories.
Secretary General of the GCC and Supreme Chairman of the Authority of GCC Awards for the best environmental works, Abdul Rahman Al Atiyyah announced the winners last Tuesday at a press conference in held in Kuwait.
Majid Al Mansouri is hailed as one of the premier personalities who contributed to the UAE's efforts to protect the environment through the sustainable development without depleting the nature. His comprehensive innovative attitude led to the formation of the Environment Authority-Abu Dhabi as an independent body with legislative and organisational powers.
Earlier this month EAD was awarded the certificate of the Best Government Entity -Large Category- at the Abu Dhabi Award for Excellence in Government Performance (ADAEP). EAD's project on Strategic Water Reserves was awarded the prize for the Excellent Managerial Project, in addition to other awards.
