Abu Dhabi Fund for Development, Yemen discuss cooperation
Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) has discussed with Yemeni official ways of boosting joint cooperation in current and future projects in Yemen.
Mohammed Saif Al Suwaidi, director general of the ADFD and Yemeni Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs and Minister of Planning and International Cooperation HE Abdul Kareem Ismail Al Arhabi, discussed ways of enhancing cooperation between the two sides.
Al Suwaidi said in the meeting that the ADFD upon the instructions from the UAE leadership executed 21 developmental projects worth Dh1.3 billion in Yemen, adding that the ADFD finances 9 new developmental projects as per pledges of the Donors' Conference at cost US$500 million to support the Yemeni economy.
The Yemeni official hailed the role of the ADFD and impacts of the UAE in the development process of Yemen.
The activities of Abu Dhabi Fund for Development focus on providing assistance in form of loans or grants to finance projects that boost development and improvement of new sectors and infrastructure, such as electricity, water, transportation, telecommunications, healthcare, agriculture and education. These facilities provided by the Fund are intended to lay the foundation for a sustainable development that ensures decent life for poor countries and their future generations. Moreover, Abu Dhabi Fund for Development manages these finances provided by the Abu Dhabi government.
