Swimming development plans highlighted

Manama, Nov. 26 (BNA): Bahrain Swimming Association president Dr. Mohammed Ali Meqbel said he will spare no efforts to develop swimming in Bahrain. Meqbel expressed pride on the mandate of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, and president of the Bahrain Olympic Committee. "On behalf of all the members of the Board of Directors of the association, I extend my thanks and gratitude to His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa for this opportunity, which we consider as an appreciated privilege. We hope that we will live up to His Highness aspirations and achieve the desired objectives," said Meqbel. The BSA president said the confidence of Shaikh Nasser is a challenge to the new Board of Directors, which is a great honour, yet a daunting task in the same context, and requires redoubling the efforts with all parties to work hand in hand to achieve further successes in swimming. He said he will work according to the strategy of Bahrain Olympic Committee under the presidency of HH Shaikh Nasser to develop swimming to the highest levels, and to expand its foundation to further boost the achievements march that would enhance Bahrain's reputation at all levels.
