Al Mohannadi Participates in ATTU Executive Board Meeting

Phuket, Thailand, November 29 (QNA) - Khalil Al Mohannadi, President of the Qatar and Arab table tennis associations, first vice-president of the Asian and international table tennis unions, participated in the two-day meeting of the Asian Table Tennis Union (ATTU) Executive Board in Phuket, Thailand, to discuss several important issues related to the game in Asia. On the sidelines of the meeting in Thailand, Al Mohannadi discussed with members of the Executive Board and ATTU President Cai Zhenhua, the future of the game and its concerns in the Asian continent. The ATTU Executive Board Meeting was presided over ATTU President Cai Zhenhua, and attended by Executive Board Members along with the President of Thai Table Tennis Association Piradej Pruttipruk. Major topics discussed including appointments of technical officials for future Asian events, Continental Qualification system for 2020 Olympics, Continental Stages of future WTTC, ATTU Development program updates, 2019 World Ranking Regulations among other important issues. The meeting also confirmed the result of SEATTA (South East Asia Table Tennis Association) election earlier this year and ratified Piradej Pruttipruk as the ATTU Regional Vice President for Southeast Asia. Ideas were exchanged and opinions were voiced based on good tradition of democratic, open and friendly discussion. A fund of USD10, 000 was jointly sponsored by ATTU and Thailand Table Tennis Association to local table tennis schools and clubs for upgrading table tennis facilities and equipment. Delegation led by President of the Indonesian Table Tennis Association also attended meeting on the 2nd day and presented on the preparations of 2019 Asian Table Tennis Championships. Al Mohannadi praised the results of the meeting, as well as the purposeful discussions to develop the game in Asia, thanking the Thai Table Tennis Association for organizing the meeting which produced the best possible outcome. Al Mohannadi added that the next ATTU Executive Board Meeting will be held in Hungary on the sidelines of the world cup scheduled to be held in late April 2019. (QNA)
