Gilani briefed on India's response to Pak's 30 queries

Islamabad, Mar 19 (PTI) Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani
was Thursday briefed on India's response to Pakistan's 30
queries seeking more information on the Mumbai terror attacks.

During a meeting at the Prime Minister's house here,
Interior Ministry chief Rehman Malik presented Gilani a copy
of answers handed over by the Indian government in response to
Pakistan's 30 questions, the official APP news agency
reported.

Malik also briefed the Prime Minister on the overall law
and order situation in the country.

India's 400-page dossier, containing replies to
Pakistan's questions, was handed over by Foreign Secretary
Shivshankar Menon to Islamabad's High Commissioner Shahid
Malik in New Delhi on March 13, a month after Islamabad posed
the queries.

On Tuesday, India's response to Pakistan's 30 queries was
provided to the Federal Investigation Agency by authorities
here for "further examination and necessary legal action".

The Indian replies were also reviewed at a meeting
earlier chaired by Interior Ministry chief Malik and attended
by Interior Secretary Kamal Shah and FIA Director General
Tariq Khosa.

They had also decided that any further response to the
Indian authorities would be "conveyed through diplomatic
channels in due course of time," officials had said.
