Arabs hail UAE's experience in protecting orphans
Cairo, Apr 6, 2009 (WAM): The delegates participating in the celebrations marking the Arab Orphan's Day in the Egyptian capital have hailed the model set by United Arab Emirates in protecting orphans.
The event is organised under the patronage of the Secretary General of the Arab League and the Egyptian Minister of Social solidarity.
Deputy Chairman and Secretary general of the Zayed Higher Foundation for Humanitarian Care Mohammed Mohammed Fadhil Al Hamili gave a presentation on the experience of the UAE in protecting orphans and giving them care and attention.
The Zayed House for Comprehensive care, which started its operations with the initiatives from late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, continued to give the orphans all the necessary care over the past decades. The House was recently given a new identity and vision in the presence of HH General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, crown prince of Abu Dhabi and deputy supreme commander of the UAE Armed Forces, shifting the focus to the families where the orphans live; noted Al Hamili.
