Two ULFA men suspected for Assam blasts

Dibrugarh, Apr 7 (PTI) Two hardcore ULFA militants who
sneaked into India's nort-eastern part Guwahati to create
disturbances during run-up to the outfit's 'Raising Day'
Tuesday were suspected to be responsible for Monday's serial
blasts in the state, Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi said
Tuesday.

The photographs of the two insurgents was released on
Sunday by the Assam police who suspected that they might also
resort to subversive activities before the parliamentary
polls, Gogoi told reporters here.

Asked to comment on ULFA's raising day, the chief
minister said, "I don't care and I am not interested."

The two militants identified as 28-year old Mohan
Rajbongshi from ULFA's 709 battalion and 32-year old Deepak
Kalita from 27 battalion were trained in arms and explosives,
police sources said.

The ULFA was formed on April 7, 1979 in upper Assam's
Sibsagar district by its chairman Arobinda Rajkhowa, c-in-c
Paresh Barua, vice-president Pradip Gogoi, general secretary
Anup Chetia (now in a Bangladesh jail) and its ideologue Bhim
Kanta Buragohain for a "sovereign" Assam. PTI cor
