UAE President receives Filipino President
Abu Dhabi, April 14, 2009 (WAM)--President HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, discussed here yesterday with Filipino President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, at Al Bateen Palace bilateral relations and ways to bolster them.
The talks also covered a number of issues of common interest in the regional and international levels. HH General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces attended the talks.
Earlier Sheikh Khalifa received the Filipino President and her entourage, who are currently visiting the country.
Arroyo expressed her happiness on visiting the UAE and meeting Sheikh Khalifa. She stressed the importance of mutual visits, which could further boost joint cooperation in different fields. She lauded the prosperity being experienced by the UAE under wise leadership of Sheikh Khalifa, expressing her appreciation about good hosting being received by the Filipino workforce in the UAE in line with the labour law.
Also present at the talks were HH Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Representative of Ruler in the Eastern Region, HH Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Presidential Affairs Minister, HH Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chief of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court and Chairman of the Higher Corporation of Specialised Economic Zones, other Sheikhs, ministers, high ranking officials and Filipino officials.
