Mubadala and Rosewood to build luxury hotel on Sowwah Island
Abu Dhabi, April 15, 2009 (WAM) - The Mubadala Development Company (Mubadala) and Rosewood Hotels & Resorts have announced the signing of a management contract for a new business hotel on Sowwah Island, the core of Abu Dhabi's new Central Business District (CBD), which will be developed by Mubadala Real Estate & Hospitality in partnership with John Buck International and managed by Rosewood Hotels & Resorts.
Opening in early 2012, Rosewood Abu Dhabi will be a 34-storey hotel offering about 190 spacious rooms and suites and about 140 serviced residences. The hotel will also feature Sense, A Rosewood Spa. Mubadala Real Estate & Hospitality will be unveiling the design at Cityscape Abu Dhabi on April 19.
John Thomas, Executive Director of Mubadala Real Estate & Hospitality, said: "We are proud to partner with Rosewood Hotels & Resorts and delighted they have recognised Sowwah Island's prime location and selected it as the site of their flagship UAE property."
