UAE partakes in Durban conference

Geneva - April 21, 2009 (WAM) - UAE's Permanent Representative to the UN's European Headquarters Obaid Salim Al Zaabi has headed the country's delegation to the Durban Review Conference on Racism which began yesterday in Geneva. The conference is scheduled for the 20th to 24th of April 2009 at the UN headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. It will review progress and assess the implementation of the Durban Declaration and Programme of Action (DDPA). The conference will also promote ratification of the UN International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (ICERD) to which the UAE has been a member since 1974.
