VP welcomes efforts to boost Emirati-Chinese banking cooperation

Dubai, April 21, 2009 (WAM) - Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai H. H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum welcomed yesterday any effort to open up new channels of communications between the UAE and Chinese banking sectors. Sheikh Mohammed said such contacts would enable the two sides to build joint foundation for cooperation and investment. Sheikh Mohammed made his remarks during an audience with a delegation representing major banks in China. The meeting reviewed ways of enhancing role the powerful Chinese banks could play in UAE markets through the Dubai International Financial Centre and cooperation with other UAE financial and banking institutions. A number of Sheikhs, ministers and senior officials attended the meeting.
