President of Cape Verde Island receives Sheikh Abdullah
Praia - April 21, 2009 (WAM) Cape Verde Island President Pedro Pires, received here yesterday at the Presidential Palace in Cape Verde Capital, Praia, UAE Foreign Minister HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Sheikh Abdullah conveyed the regards of President HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and HH General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to President Pires.
President Pires and Sheikh Abdullah discussed cooperation ties in all fields and the latest developments in the Middle East.
UAE Foreign Minister reiterated that his visit to Cape Verde Island comes in line with the UAE close ties with a number of friendly countries, a move that could further strengthen cooperation and friendship between the UAE and Cape Verde Island.
On his part, President Pires welcomed the visit of Sheikh Abdullah, hoping that it would contribute in boosting the relations in all fields.
In related development, Sheikh Abdullah held talks at Foreign Ministry in Praia with Cape Verde Foreign Minister Jose Prieto and Cape Verde Finance Minister Christina Duarte, on development, joint investments and the UAE's role in the developmental, educational and health projects in Africa.
