UAE signs Air Services MoU with Indonesia

Abu Dhabi, May 4, 2009 (WAM) - The United Arab Emirates represented by the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) signed an Air Services Memorandum of Understanding with the Indonesia Air Civil Aviation Authority on 21st April 2009 in Jakarta, to increase flights using any type of aircraft (whether owned or leased) and without capacity restrictions between the two countries.
The MoU was signed by Deputy Director General of the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) Omar Bin Ghaleb, and Director of Air Transport of Indonesian Tri S. Sunoko. Representatives from Abu Dhabi Department of Transport, Dubai Civil Aviation, Sharjah Civil Aviation, Emirates airline and Etihad Airways, attended the signing ceremony.
The UAE Delegation designated, in addition to Emirates Airline and Etihad Airways, Air Arabia, RAK Airways and Fly Dubai as UAE national Airlines. The Indonesian Delegation designated, in addition to Garuda Indonesia, Metro Batavia Air, Indonesia Air Asia and Loin Air as the Designated Airlines of the Republic of Indonesia under the signed Memorandum.
According to the MoU both parties agreed to increase 42 weekly passenger frequencies for the designated airlines of each party. Both delegations agreed during the meeting to modify article in the Air Services Agreement related to Aviation Security and added new article on Aviation Safety.
