Minister President of German State of Hesse to visit the UAE
Abu Dhabi, May 6, 2009 (WAM) - Minister President of the Federal State of Hesse H.E. Roland Koch will be visiting the UAE on May 6-7 at the helm of a high-ranking political and business delegation, the German Embassy in Abu Dhabi said in a press release.
He aims to further develop political and economic ties with the UAE, while promoting Hesse, amongst others the German financial centre, as an economic hub and location for excellence and innovation in Germany.
Meetings with leading UAE representatives in politics and business are intended to explore possibilities for closer co-operation between both sides, with the Frankfurt as the banking centre in Germany and as the main German stock exchange the state of Hesse is the major financial centre in Germany.
Business relations between Germany and the UAE are excellent: In 2008, the volume of bilateral turnover between both countries reached an unprecedented 12 billion US dollars for the first time, the release added.
