UAE signs air services MoU with Korea

Dubai, May 10, 2009 (WAM) - The United Arab Emirates represented by the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) signed an Air Services Memorandum of Understanding with the Republic of Korea on 7th May 2009 in Abu Dhabi, to discuss and establish operations on the Korea and Abu Dhabi route.
The MoU was signed by Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi Director General of the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and Mr. Sang-Do KIM, Director of International Air Transport Division, Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs. Representatives from Abu Dhabi Department of Transport and Etihad Airways, attended the meeting.
According to the MoU both parties are entitled to operate up to four (4) weekly frequencies for each side with immediate effect on the route Abu Dhabi - Korea, without any restriction on the type of aircraft and which may be exercised either for passengers, in combination with cargo or pure freighter services.
Furthermore, both parties will be entitled to operate three (3) weekly frequencies for each side with effect from IATA Summer 2012 season, without any restriction on the type of aircraft and which may be exercised either for passengers, in combination with cargo or pure freighter services.
