Saif bin Zayed attends signing of MoU between the Interior Ministry, German Publishing House

Abu Dhabi, May 11, 2009 (WAM) - UAE Interior Minister HH Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, attended today the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the ministry and the German Publishing House, whereby the German side will providing the latest special strategic security solutions in the areas of design and printing of the security cards.
Commenting on significance of the MoU, Sheikh Saif said that the UAE was keen to develop joint cooperation ties with the Federal Republic of Germany in the best interest of the two friendly peoples, lauding the current level of the relations between the UAE and Germany.
Colonel Salem Ali Al Shamsi, executive director of privatisation group, signed on behalf of the Interior ministry, while George Baumgartel, signed on behalf of the German Publishing House in presence of German Federal Minister of Economics and Technology Dr. Karl-Theodor Freiherr zu Guttenberg.
As per this MoU, Al Shamsi said, there will be cooperation in the areas of passport printing, driving licences, service identity cards and identity cards. Earlier, Sheikh Saif received the German official and discussed with him a number of issues of common interest.
