Court convicts former bureaucrat Runu Ghosh in DA case
New Delhi, May 12 (PTI) India's former deputy director
general in the Telecom Ministry Runu Ghosh was Tuesday
convicted by a Delhi court for amassing disproportionate
assets during the tenure of Union Minister Sukhram.
Special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Judge V
K Maheshwari convicted Runu (57) in a 13-year-old case filed
against her after the CBI had unearthed disproportionate
assets to the tune of Rs 22.71 lakh from her residence on a
day it had recovered Rs 2.45 crore in cash from the then
Telecommunication Minister Sukhram's houses.
The court would hear the arguments on the quantum of
punishment Wednesday.
Runu, who was present in court, said she would
approach the High Court against the order. (MORE) PTI
