Human Rights Association team visits shelter for victims of human trafficking
Abu Dhabi, May 20, 2009 (WAM) - A committee dealing with human trafficking at the UAE Human Rights Association visited yesterday the Abu Dhabi Shelter for Victims of Human Trafficking.
Sara Shahail, Director of the Shelter, briefed the visiting delegation about the activities and programmes of the centre for providing protection, care and support for victims of human trafficking.
For his part, Mohammed Al Hamadi, Secretary General of the Association and Head of the Committee, explained to the centre officials the mission and role of the committee in handling human trafficking cases. The two sides explored the best ways of forging a joint partnership for implementing programmes to combat the crime. They also discussed means of leveraging standards of awareness about the crime among UAE nationals, residents and visitors.
