UAE committed to welfare of persons with special needs
The Ministry of Interior is committed to train and recruit persons with special needs to provide them with decent life and socio-economic stability, Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, affirmed.
”The Ministry efforts will continue to provide decent jobs to the physically challenged nationals at both government and private institutions in order to enable them lead a secured living socially and economically, Sheikh Saif said on the occasion of graduation of 116 persons with special needs who completed training at the Interior Ministry’s centres for training and employing of special needy people.
General Supervisor of the centres Nasser Al Sharaifi said 18 disabled persons were running six pilot projects. ”After seven years of launching these centres, we are proud of the remarkable achievements we have made in training and employing members of this group and integrating them into the local community,” he said. ”Of the 403 male and female graduates, 363 were recruited by the public and private sectors,” he noted.
