Gargash, Bundestag President discuss bilateral relations
UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Anwar Gargash and President of the German Parliament (The Bundestag) Prof. Dr. Norbert Lammert on Tuesday discussed bilateral relations between their two countries as well as ways to further promote them in all areas.
During a meeting in Abu Dhabi, Gargash and Lammert, who is vice chairman of the Germany-based Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) foundation, also discussed regional issues of common concern. Cooperation between KAS and the Emirates Centre for Strategic Studies and Research (ECSSR), the UAE's leading think-tank, on organizing conferences was also discussed at the meeting.
Lammert yesterday delivered a lecture at ECCSR on "Values and Interests as Challenges for International Relations". The Konrad-Adenauer-Foundation named after the first chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, is a political foundation and research centre with 16 regional offices and two conference centers in Germany.
