RCA dispatches relief aid to South Sudan

Abu Dhabi, June 23, 2009 (WAM) - The first plane, carrying relief aid will leave for Juba city in South Sudan Tuesday, carrying quantities of food, shelter devices and medicines to the displaced there.
The move follows the instructions from HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Representative of the Ruler in Western Region and Chairman of the Red Crescent Authority (RCA). The ordering of the three planes to dispatch the relief aid to South Sudan "reflects keenness of Sheikh Hamdan to better the humanitarian conditions of the displaced people in South Sudan.”
The RCA has prepared an ambitious programme to repatriate the displaced in South Sudan and Darfur through contribution in the developmental projects.
