UAE bids to get falconry included on UNESCO list
Abu Dhabi, July 13, 2009 (WAM) - The UAE is stepping up efforts to have falconry included in the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO).
The effort is being led by the Emirates Falconers' Club and the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (ADACH) as part of an international campaign to promote falconry. ADACH representatives will meet in London on Tuesday with experts from other Arab states.
