Fujairah Ruler to lead UAE delegation to NAM Summit in Sharm El-Sheikh
Abu Dhabi, July 14, 2009 (WAM) - On behalf of President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al-Sharqi, will lead UAE delegation to the 15th summit of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), to be held in the Egyptian resort town of Sharm El-Sheikh from July 14 to 16.
One hundred and fifty countries, regional and international organisations will be participating in the summit, which is being held under the theme: "International Solidarity for Peace and Development". Notable among the important issues on the agenda of the summit are the Palestinian issue, the situation in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Sudan, as well as human rights issues and disarmament of weapons of mass destruction.
