Director of WAMY Office in Indonesia Commends Saudi Arabia’s Medical Support

Jakarta, January 05, 2026, SPA -- Director of the World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY) Office in Indonesia Aang Suwandi praised Saudi Arabia’s distinguished humanitarian and medical efforts in serving the Indonesian community. He said these initiatives reflect the Kingdom’s firm commitment to sustainable humanitarian work and play a direct role in alleviating patients’ suffering by providing specialized medical care that requires high levels of expertise and involves significant treatment costs.
His remarks came following the conclusion of the volunteer medical project for maxillofacial and thyroid surgery, recently implemented by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center in Makassar, Indonesia. The seven-day project is part of a series of volunteer medical campaigns carried out by the center in several countries, embodying the Kingdom’s vision of leadership in humanitarian work and its commitment to extending assistance to those in need wherever they are.
Suwandi noted that the project reflects the depth of the relations between the Saudi and Indonesian peoples. He pointed to the participation of 19 qualified Saudi medical volunteers from various surgical and medical specialties, who contributed to performing around 150 complex surgical operations. These efforts were widely praised by both Indonesian officials and beneficiaries.
