RCA steps up relief programme in Indonesia
Jakarta - Oct 10, 2009 (WAM) The UAE Red Crescent Authority has intensified its relief operations in Indonesia to alleviate suffering of the survivors of the earthquake that shattered Indonesia' west Sumatra region.
The RCA team dispatched a plane-load of relief consignment to Sumatra that consisted of medicines, tents and other sheltering materials.
Meanwhile, the medical team at the Emarati field hospital in the city of Pariaman continued to provide treatment to the injured people in Sumatra. The team performed three surgeries for patients brought from neighbouring villages. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
