Abu Dhabi Crown Prince meets President of Iceland

Abu Dhabi, Nov 25, 2009 (WAM) - HH General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces received yesterday President Olafur Grimsson of Iceland at the Al-Bahr Palace in Abu Dhabi.
The meeting was attended by HH Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, HH Sheikh Abdullah Bin Rashid Al Mualla, Deputy Ruler of Umm Al Qaiwain and Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Board Etihad Airways and Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Public Works and HE Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi, Minister of Foreign Trade and HH Sheikh Marwan Bin Rashid Al Mualla, Chairman of Land Department and Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, CEO Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company Masdar.
The Crown Prince welcomed the President and wished that the visit will play a major role in strengthening the bilateral relations between UAE and Iceland.
The President of Iceland congratulated the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Abu Dhabi for hosting the headquarters of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) at the Masdar city in Abu Dhabi.
During the meeting, they exchanged views on the Sheikh Zayed Future Energy Prize and the visiting dignitary expressed his happiness about the quality of the prize and the number of international participants in its second edition.
Grimsson also visited the Masdar city and was impressed by the progress achieved by the unique initiative. He also held talks with the officials on aspects of cooperation. Later he met a number of Icelandic students studying at the Masdar Institute of Science and Technology
