Festival of Kazakh national art in London

London, December 17, 2009 (Khabar) - Music by Kazakhstani composers has been played at the best concert stages of London. National music was performed by famous Kazakh and British bands for the first time as part of the annual festival of national art called “Kazakh Gala”. This sixth festival of Kazakhstan’s art in London is the grandest and largest. Kazakhstani artists performed in the oldest and most prestigious halls of British capital and high-ranked officials and members of royal family visited concerts.

Anne, Princess of Kent :
- We had such a wonderful time first of all in your country and so we were particularly looking forward to the concert. We heard the kobyz, it’s a wonderful instrument.

The second concert was held at the Cadogan Hall. Its program features the works by Serik Yerkembekov, Tles Kazhgaliyev and Sibelius. The British audience warmly responded to the performance of Kazakh state “Academy of soloists” orchestra and famous violinist Aiman Musakhodzhayeva.

Terence Buxton, deputy mayor, Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea:
- It’s a fantastic concert. The music is beautiful and musicians are talented. We are happy and think it’s an honour for us to receive Kazakh performers at the famous Cadogan Hall of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.

Aiman Musakhodzhayeva, violinist:
- I think that the festival of Kazakh music and Kazakh art was successful in London. Everybody talks about Kazakhstan and everybody is happy for us and our success. We wanted to share this happiness about Independence Day of Kazakhstan through our art today.

The other actions of the festival were also dedicated to the Independence Day of the republic. And special attention was paid to all these actions in connections of Kazakhstan’s forthcoming chairing the OSCE.
