Fish traders to display products at int'l show

HCM City (VNA) - Some 128 local and foreign companies in the fishery industry will show their products and processing techniques at a three-day fisheries exhibition in Ho Chi Minh City , beginning on June 12. The Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP)'s 10 th Vietnam Fisheries International Exhibition includes companies from Britain, Spain , Malaysia , Germany , Norway , Japan and others at 224 booths. Tools, equipment, chemicals and services that support the fisheries industry will be on display at many of the booths. Truong Dinh Hoe, VASEP's general secretary, said that VIETFISH 2008 would hold a Good Quality Products contest, a Knowledge on Fisheries contest and a Best Seafood Dish competition. Eight food and drink booths will serve visitors during the exhibition. Hoe said that aquatic products' export turnover for the first five months of the year reached 1.5 billion USD. The year's target set by the Government is 4.5 billion USD. He expects sales to improve for the rest of the year.-Enditem
