NPCC secures a total contract award of Dh1.6 Billion from ONGC India in the last 2 months
Abu Dhabi, Dec 27, 2009 (WAM) - The Abu Dhabi-based "National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC)" has been awarded by Oil '&' Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC), an Indian Government Undertaking Enterprise, a major EPC contract for RS-12 Well Platform Project at offshore Mumbai High Field. The contract value is approximately 162 million U. S. Dollars. This will make a total contract value awarded to NPCC Dh1.6 Billion from ONGC, India since October 2009.
The Scope of Work under the above project consists of survey, design '&' detailed engineering, procurement, fabrication, transportation, installation, hook-up, pre-commissioning and commissioning as applicable of; one number RS-12 Well Platform, Several segments of subsea pipelines (Rigid '&' Flexible) and Composite Subsea Cable. As per the contractual programme, the overall project completion is scheduled for 30 April 2011.
Aqeel Madhi, CEO of NPCC further stated that last October 2009, NPCC signed a Contract with ONGC for the construction of B-22- 3 Wellhead Platforms with pipeline and modification works. The contract value is approximately Dh1 billion UAE and the project is to be completed by April 2011.
NPCC has successfully executed several mega EPC projects for ONGC in the past; the recent being the 4 Wellhead Platforms Project -2 completed in April 2007 and C-Series Wellhead Platforms Project completed in April 2009.
NPCC geared up to meet the challenging task of completing both newly awarded RS-12 Well Platform Project and recently awarded B-22 Field Development Project within the same tight completion schedule of 30th April 2011 with its dedicated management, experienced and committed project team working in total compliance with the Client's requirements ensuring timely completion with highest standards of quality and safety.
NPCC's successful history in India, in particular with ONGC, goes back to over 25 years. Several large EPC contracts were executed for its prestigious and respectful client. The continuing and excellent relationship that NPCC has established with ONGC and the high prospects seen for future developments in the offshore sector of the Oil '&' Gas industry, have prompted NPCC to start its first expansion in 2007 by establishing a first class Design Centre in Mumbai to be within close proximity of its clients and to better serve the Indian market.
This Design centre, which operates under the name of NPCC Engineering Limited (NEL), will fully support the Abu Dhabi based Engineering Department in carrying out the total Engineering and Design scope of the project, in-house.
